Michael Moedt
Full Stack Developer
Michael has been building software for a long time, and in a lot of different places. He started out writing firmware for embedded hardware, spent years in enterprise Java, and more recently has focused on full-stack, backend and integration work in TypeScript, Node and Python. He likes making existing software better without breaking what already works, and he can’t leave a slow build or a clunky process alone. He has also really started running with AI, and uses it every day to get the most out of his work.
Away from the keyboard, Michael loves cooking for his family. He reads about nutrition and health science for fun, which tends to shape what ends up on the table. He still plays with computers on the side too, and has a soft spot for tinkering with Linux.
Education – Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, University of Manitoba
Specialities – TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Python/Django, Java/Spring, AWS, Docker, AI-assisted development
Fun Fact – At his first job out of school, he was handed a stack of circuit boards to program by hand from a checklist. He wrote a script instead.
